Real-time Occupancy Is Back for Hills Showground and Cherrybrook Stations

We're excited to announce the completion of extensive upgrades to the car parks at all Sydney Metro stations, transforming them into Park and Ride facilities. Today, we're pleased to share that these upgrades have been successfully implemented at both Cherrybrook and Hills Showground stations. Plus, you can now access real-time occupancy information via the user-friendly PARKnRIDE app.

We want to express our gratitude for your unwavering patience and support throughout this journey as we continuously endeavour to enhance your daily commuting experience with PARKnRIDE. Your convenience remains our top priority, and we are truly excited to unveil these latest updates.

So, what does this upgrade mean for you?

As part of this upgrade, car park users will now need to use their Opal card or a debit/credit card to enter and exit the car park, and the same payment method should be used for your public transport journey. If you opt for a debit/credit card, it must be registered within your Transport Connect account. You can easily register your card by clicking here.

But, what about parking fees?

The good news is that parking will remain free for those who complete a valid public transport trip using the same payment method (Opal card or a linked credit/debit card) once the card is registered within the Transport Connect account. This free parking privilege is applicable for a duration of up to 18 hours. However, after 18 hours, parking rates will apply in 24-hour increments. For those who don't utilize public transport or exceed the 18-hour free parking window, the following charges will be in effect:

Weekdays: A flat rate of $30

Weekends and public holidays: A flat rate of $10 Standard parking rates will apply from the time of entry, calculated in 24-hour increments.
